These are a couple photos that I took of the red tail hawk at the Turtle Bay Exploratorium. They have feedings daily where you can watch the birds being fed. This was a rare occasion when the trainers were with the birds. They were out in the main walkway.
The Sundial Bridge is always a favorite to visit and explore for locals and visitors. The Turtle Bay Sundial Bridge is a wonderful walking bridge landmark designed by Santiago Calatrava. You can visit his website here. There are only a few bridges in the United States and the residents of Shasta county are very fortunate to have this monumental piece of architecture.
The Sundial Bridge is a must see if you are passing by on Interstate 5 by Redding in Shasta county. The bridge is over the Sacramento river, which does not begin in Sacramento, but up in Shasta county. In addition to this wonderful feat of architecture, the Sundial Bridge is located in the middle of a beautiful arboretum and a wildlife museum and exploration park.
The bridge is very well designed, and is an actual sundial.
Beautiful Whiskeytown lake is one of the best lakes! We used to stop and swim all the time as kids!
Whiskeytown Lake, in Shasta County is one of the nicest places to relax, swim, and spend time on the lake with friends and/or family. The water is the perfect temperature, it has many great beaches, it is a campground lake and you can have recreational vehicles in the lake also. The water is clear, refreshing, and looks almost like a sea at times.
