Canyon Creek swimming hole.

Went swimming at this swimming hole today, it was very hot, and the water perfectly cool. It was also very refreshing and beautiful. There were kids there and adults jumping off the rocks, into the deeper parts of the water. Although there are still fires burning around this area, it happened to be pretty clear at the time we were there.

Although swim season is just about over, the days are still pretty hot, and I am sure people are still swimming now.  The water is probably a bit cooler now.  But in the hot days it’s refreshing.  There are still many fires happening all around California and the skies can be a bit overcast, and smokey at times.  Pictured here it was a smokey day.

There are fun games for the children, booths with things to buy for gifts. Then, the piéce de resistance is the actual May Day Ribbon dance, which is where children and adult participate and weave the multi-colored ribbons. It is a fun community event, and the children love it.

Chagdud Gompa – Junction City

This a Buddhist Tibetan community located in Junction City, quite close to where the memorial was held. I do wonder who built those. My mom’s friend used to live there, I should call her and ask her.

The structures are very beautiful, and the valley is very nice. You can see mountain peaks in the distance.
