Star Thistles and Chicory Wild Flowers, Trinity County

Chicory is a native wild flower in Trinity county, a pretty light blue (cornflower color) flower that is a member of the sunflower family.

These are probably some of the most painful stickers when walking on or through them. They are common in the summer.
The other blue flower is a native to Trinity county called Chicory and it’s a member of the sunflower family.  I would like to have more chicory in the yard than the star thistles.
