One day after swimming we found the Trinity county Cemetery near Helene, California. The cemetery is located near Helene creek and the Trinity river. It’s very old and dates back to the late early 1800’s or so.
Helene, down river, near Big Flat is beautiful, this creek runs into the Trinity river. The creek is much warmer water than the river. The water is clear, crisp, and wonderful to swim in!
There are several places to swim and this one is a bit of a hike to get into. It’s doesn’t have a very well marked trail, and you have to be very careful. You could end up hurt if you slip or fall.
Swimming at Helena is absolutely delightful! The water is pleasantly cool and refreshing. It is very deep in parts and people enjoy jumping off the rocks and the infamous rope swing which every rural area seems to have. There are small rapids that the children and adults alike enjoy floating and swimming in.
