Strawberry Moon in Trinity County, California

Strawberry moon, a very reddish moon, with black sky surrounding, the moon was the Strawberry moon last night.

Yesterday was the Strawberry moon, and one of my favorite things to do is watch the moon rise.  This time it was the Strawberry moon.

I ran to get the camera and the moon had already risen above the treeline.  I was expecting to see more red, as there was a fire close by, but it was clear.  This isn’t red from the sky, it’s the exposure.

Horse and Cowboy Sculpture, Woodland, California

If you drive Interstate 5 north of Scaramento you may want to stop in Woodland at Costco, Starbucks, In and Our, or numerous other stores.  Just off 5 you will find a shopping mall, that has a variety of stores, restaurants, and even gas.  I like to stop for gas at Costco, and get a coffee for the long drive back.  Also if I have any cookie supplies to get, I can hop over to Michael’s which is there also.

The sculptures are just as you enter the first shopping entrance, on the right side, at the Mod Pizza.  They are Gigantic!  I love the silver horse, and the cowboy is impressive also.  I cannot find the artists name at the moment.  Leave me a comment if you know of their work!  These pieces are beautiful!

Beautiful white tulips with bright yellow centers, I brought them from Amsterdam.
Beautiful white tulips from Amsterdam, Netherlands.

April Showers brought lots of tulips.  Now it’s May and more flowers but I still love tulips.

Happy May everyone!

One of my favorites a bright light orange tulip with yellow inside, the photo is from above, and then there leaves are bright minty green.

Picture of blackberries, different stages, some very greenish red, to bright red to black. When they are shiny they are perfect and ready to be picked. This pic the berries are in the pine tree and blue sky in the background.

Beautiful blackberries ripe and ready to be picked.

We had an early blackberry season this year, maybe from all the rain.  Almost all the blackberries are drying up except a few bushes in shadier areas.

Pictured a half gallon of perfect blackberries in a stailess steel metal bowl sitting on a metal chair with holes and painted white, which is a contrast to the blackberries.
Pictured my favorite bowls for picking are the stainless steel.

You can smell the blackberries in the air, and it has a scent of blackberry wine.  The season is almost over, as it’s also getting cold at night.

Beautiful very ripe blackberries, in a portrait picture, they are hanging and each blackberry is very ripe, black and shiny, ready to be picked. A very green backdrop of blackberry leaves and also pine tree needles.
These are perfect blackberries. Right after I shot the photo I picked them.

So far, I’ve made some seedless blackberry jam, and froze some blackberries also.  I plan to pick the last of the berries and make more jam.

Throughout the summer I have been taking photographs of the blackberries.   I think they are great!  I love the color combination of the red berries, and black and sometimes green.
