Once again we had a wonderful family reunion at the Rustic Cottage in Tahoe Vista!  We love the Tahoe area, and it’s hard to find a location that will accommodate all the families, but also give some families a little private retreat of their own.   A few families share on of the larger cabins and then anyone who wants their own small cottage can get their own.  Some of the cottages can fit a family of five!  And the larger cabins can fit multiple families.  Check out their website, and some of their accommodations!

We always have a spectacular time!  Going to Lake Tahoe of course is one of our main activities!  Sometimes one of the cousins has a boat, and we have gone boating, but not this time.  The big activity this time was catching crawdads!  It wasn’t very hot earlier in the summer, so we didn’t do a lot of swimming.  The kids went up and down the shoreline looking for crawdads.  I remember doing this as a kid, and it was great fun!

Beautiful picture of lake Tahoe, taken as I waded in the water, and the sky is very blue with lots of various clouds cumulous and cirrus. The water is a blue green color and you can see the mountains of the south shore in the distance.
Tahoe Vista, on Lake Tahoe is in between Incline, near the state line, and Tahoe City, CA.

The Rustic Cottages has a main cabin which serves breakfast, eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage etc….  You can make your own waffles which the kids love!  I usually bring blackberries if they are in season, and we bring a big bowl to have a breakfast in the main cabin.  Almost always, other guests help themselves, thinking the Rustic Cottages has supplied the blackberries!  What is funny is other guests give us looks as if we are being rude for putting the blackberries on our table!  A few times, people have just helped themselves and then found out that they were not in fact for “everyone”.

Beautiful red wild flowers that I am not sure of the name!

From the cabin at Rustic Cottages there is a trail which leads up into the mountain and you can go for a short hike.  We did this time and I found all kinds of beautiful flowers and scenery.  The meadow also has beautiful sunsets, and the lake has beautiful sunrises!

Giant marshmallow s'more with graham crackers and chocolate sitting on a green and white checkered table cloth, the marshmallow has yet to be cooked.
We love to have s’mores for our cabin adventure!

We always have some sort of barbeque and then s’mores of course!   This year we had s’mores in a cone, which those are spectacular!  Pictured is one smore with a gigantic marshmallow!

Beautiful sunset in Lake Tahoe, pink clouds and blue sky with a dark shadow of a huge pine.
Of course, Lake Tahoe has wonderful sunsets to offer.

Trinidad and Tobago

The island of Tobago, and my towel, in the picture.
A beautiful beach in Tobago.

One of my most memorable trips anywhere was to Trinidad and Tobago.  I went there for carnival a few years ago.

It is most enjoyable due to all the beautiful beaches there!

Here are pictures of Tobago followed by Trinidad.

Tobago is a wonderful island to visit.

Lily at Limantour Beach at the Point Reyes Sea Shore

Lily at Limantour beach in point reyes seashore. Long beach at Drakes bay, sand, blue sea, white foam, lily the white dog,and background of the coastline heading south.

This is an old pic of Lily at Limantour Beach north or San Francisco, in Marin County. This is a beautiful beach and very often empty.

Limantour is a wonderful beach, it is both a dog beach and non animal beach.  This is an excerpt from Point Reyes, National Seashore.  You can find all kinds of beaches here.

Beaches of Point Reyes

Limantour Beach
A long, narrow spit of sand, bound between Drakes Bay and an estuary, is a bountiful wildlife area. Scores of shorebirds feed in the wetlands and along the beaches during the fall. Ducks abound in winter at old, freshwater stock ponds created during the peninsula’s ranching era. Harbor seals  are often seen bobbing offshore in the gentle waves or basking in the sun’s warmth. Mother gray whales guide their calves along the shoreline during the spring. Dogs are allowed on a 1.8-meter (6-foot) leash on the southeast end of this beach. Dogs are not permitted to the northwest as this area is protected habitat for harbor seals and the endangered snowy plover.
